victims of carbon monoxide poisoning. domingo, sunday, the last time the pastor saw his friend alive. five adults, three men and two women were found dead in a house in oxen hill tuesday morning. investigators say it looks like carbon monoxide poisoning. >> we had a heating system that had a very old piping system. obviously, had not been maintained. at least from what we can see. >> one of them was sonia chavez, her daughter had just seen her last night. >> last night at 9:00 p.m., was here with my son and we were taking care of my mother, she had a surgery from friday. and how we have seen her. and everything is fine. >> sonia's husband oscar chavez posed for the picture with his grandson just last night. those in the home who were not

related knew each other through church. angel diaz was in the church band with one of the men who died. >> and we work together like about a year. and i had real good. this is good. >> reporter: we're back out live new with mark brady, the spokesman for the prince georges county fire and e.m.s. tell me, mark, we heard the chief say in the story there appeared to be obvious problems with the heating system in the house. educate folks a little bit and tell them, remind them again how this issue works? >> well, we would like to see everyone have their fuel- burning appliances checked annually, every year before the season begins to make sure everything is in tact and if this was checked, more than likely it would not have occurred. a technician would have noticed the pipe being destroyed. a carbon monoxide detector in the home and that is designed to activate when the air reaches unhealthy levels.

>> and when you hear about the numbers of the chief talking about, how elevated the levels were in this house, it shows you how bad it can get and relatively quickly, if you have a problem with the system. >> comparing to being 0 to five parts per million, the residents probably started feeling the effects almost immediately and once exposed within an hour or two, probably should come to those vows. >> and you guys mentioned earlier today, that you have had other calls in this very neighborhood over the course of the few months. >> we don't think it's a system problem. we think it's a situation where these are older homes, some of them may still have original appliances like the gas-burning furnace. so that is why it's important to have them checked annually. >> thanks so much, mark brady, back to you, laura. >> and beth parker, thank you very much. the news o.j. virginia, where a judge found a prince william county teenager guilty of wreckless driving.

christopher suarez was facing two counts of involuntary manslaughter for a crash last year that killed two of his friends. but the judge found him not guilty on those charges. sower easy was speeding on log mill road and heymarket last april, when he hit a deer and lost control of the car and hit a tree. two 15-year-old girls in the car died. no one was wearing a seatbelt. suarez faces a year in jail when sentenced in june. and another big drug bust by customs officials at dulles international airport. check out the pictures here. we're going to show you cocaine. that is cocaine stuffed inside chocolate bars. officers say a woman from guatemala was trying to sneak the drugs into the u.s. she hid the cocaine in juice boxes. the officers recovered more than four pounds of cocaine. the woman was not criminally charged but was removed into the united states and faces a five-year ban from returning to the u.s. testimony got underway in the retrial of former major league pitcher roger clemens

today. the former big league pitcher is facing major league charges he lied to congress about using steroids. tom fitzgerald was in the courtroom today and is here with the details on day 1. fitz. >> reporter: if anyone was expecting scandalous steroids revelations or big-name ball players taking the stand. it would be disappointed today. instead, the first day of testimony, it's a bask element of life here in washington. what is the purpose of the congressional hear something is that seemingly mundane topic goes to the heart of the criminal charges&that roger clemens is no facing. and this is on a business suit. he arrived at the u.s. district courthouse in washington and have seen six counts of obstruction of congress, making false statements and perjury. clemons' defense attorney rusty hardin began the day making his opening statement. the government's star witness clancy clemons' former trainer,

brian mcnamee, injected with human growth hormone. the 10 years with clemons had little effect on his career, saying, quote, his career never changed. it was what it was before, brian mcna me, it was what it was during brian mcna me and it was what it was after. as for the charges that clemons broke the law by lying to congress in 2008, that he never used steroids, hardin added, quote, god help us if we reached the point of making a federal case of a man denying he committed a crime. the jurors heard another voice and that was of roger clemens him. in a roaring with the congressional investigators before the public house testimony, clemons denied ever using steroids. barnett said that clemons was never subpoenaed to testify before congress and did so willingly. congress wanted to hear from clemons after he was named 82

times in baseball's mitchell report on steroids. barnett testified, quote, mr. clemons was vigorously challenging the validity of the george mitchell report, since the committee asked for the report. we were very interested in that. clemons is not charged with using steroids. but instead, lying about using steroids to congress. and if convicted, the judge has stated roger clemens could go to jail. new, this first day of testimony, though, came to an early end on the count of the judge in this case and the area for speaking engagement. the roger clemens trial, expected to start again monday morn -- morning. >> thank you. a former engineer for bp, the first person criminally charged in the disastrous spill in the gulf of mexico two years ago. kurt nix is charged with two counts of obstruction of justice. the justice department said he deleted 200 text messages about bps failing efforts to cap that spill.

it happened when the deepwater horizon rig exploded killing 11 workers andsenning more than 200 million gallons of crude oil into the water. in the weeks before a cap finally worked. primary day in five states today after a few weeks off from the voting. there are still three candidates in the race for the ron nomination and all of the talk is about mitt romney. fox's craig bosswell with why today's primaries could effectively end the other two campaigns for good. >> reporter: turnout in today's republican primaries is expected to be low but the impact on the overall race could be high. a clean sweep with the large margin of victor would move mitt romney more than 2/3 of the way to the 1144 delegates needed to clench the nomination. >> this is going to be the nail in the coffin. >> reporter: there are more than 200 at stake in new york, rhode island, connecticut, pennsylvania, and delaware. newt gingrich hopes for a strong showing in delaware and his campaign is more than $4 million in debt. ron paul could also take away a few delegates and even though

. a news alert out of maryland. police are asking for your help in finding a missing man. the 73-year-old reginald green was last seen on 48th street in bladensburg n. he's developmentally disabled and has several medical conditions that may affect his ability to commune kate. -- communicate. green has a protrusion to the right side of the head and suffers from hand tremors. he may have found his way to the d.c. area and lives in the district and attends a day program in bladensburg. if you see him, police would like you to give him a call. if you have a crime to report, there is an app for that. crime solvers is partnering with a free app that allows people to provide tips to police anonymously. it's called tip submit and is available on the iphone and

meanwhile, last year on this date, 85. and april can be all over the place. how did about 68 if tomorrow? looks look a nice day, abrate day, too and we won't repeat the afternoon clouds. the storm system is into the northeastern canada by then. thursday looks like a day. the morning showers for the commute and a warm front coming on through and i am thinking 73 for d.c. and thursday is one of the days where it's in the mid- 60s in frederick and 80 degrees in fredericksburg. you may have thunderstorms for the evening commute as well. friday, about 64 degrees, and we'll watch the showers for thursday morning and some thunderstorms for thursday afternoon. and then we dry it out for friday. unfortunately, the weekend is looking unsettled as the front that comes through on thursday night produces the thunderstorms and is the going to stall down here, we think. that 19s too -- means too close for comfort and like to form around that front. the temperatures, 61 degrees. quantico, 65 degrees. fiftys to the north and under the clouds. i wanted you to see this, 41 in

buffalo and currently in buffalo and that is because you under the influence of the nor easter and boston also is chillier. all we have to do is look toward the middle of the country and the april heat is back again, folks. and 77 degrees. we have a lot of heat out there and with that cold storm that passes by yesterday, that is why april can be somewhat volatile in the atmosphere department. all right, we're expecting a breezy day tomorrow and a sunny day. the breeze won't be as strong as it was today and we have another system building this and this morning, here comes the warm front producing showers. and then maybe a few hours that are not so wet and another round in the afternoon. timing out with the evening rosh hour -- rush hour that could feature a thunderstorm and we go on to friday and that is going to be a nice dry day. again, a few more showers possible for the weekend. overnight, describing it's cool and the temperature here about
